He didn't call for it, but he mentioned it in one of his AMAs some months ago. Didn't say you should buy ADA, but said that Cardano is designed in a way to be evidently secure that you could trust it with your life savings (I'm sure he said "life savings"). He mentioned blockchains that had vulnerabilities, supposedly unlike Cardano, and told that's why Cardano development is relatively slow because they must peer-review everything.
