With regards to real world application, he mentioned before “sometimes I get very excited thinking that Dusk might be the perfect solution for settlement and clearance of securities”. They also did a digital euro proposal for the European Central Bank which implies that they have relations with the ECB. They also have Bas Kortenhoff who is an advisor for Dusk since last year and he has 12 yrs of work history with Euroclear. There’s probably more which I forgot about as well. Anyway, the relationships and connections are there and could prove to be useful for adoption by these institutions once mainnet is out.

Dusk is a layer 1 with native zk built into it which allows not only private transactions but also confidential smart contracts. Dusk is at least 3 years ahead of any L1 with zk as no one else is doing this. Layer 2 zk are known as zk rollups and they cannot perform confidential smart contracts which is essential for what Dusk is doing.

I think they need to weigh the pros and cons of it
