The investment case for dusk and the tech is amazing. But My common sense, not knowledge, tells me that other layer one and 2 blockchains will be able to achieve the same as dusk will achieve by adding zk proof to existing blockchains. That doesn’t mean we must stop in our goal but how will we compete with ether or other big layer 1’s if they can do the same?
Dusk is a layer 1 with native zk built into it which allows not only private transactions but also confidential smart contracts. Dusk is at least 3 years ahead of any L1 with zk as no one else is doing this. Layer 2 zk are known as zk rollups and they cannot perform confidential smart contracts which is essential for what Dusk is doing.
Dusk also wanted to do it as an l2
