Another thought experiment that challenged my view of mind-uploading and stuff like that: Imagine your neurons are exchanged one by one with a non-biological counterpart that can do the same information processing. At what point would you assume you become unconscious, while not changing in behavior at all?
As soon as the majority of my neurons (so at least 3) have been replaced.
